Mechatronics

Mechatronics: Machines require high-torque drives

Industry is developing new manufacturing processes to produce of all kinds of goods and objects. Manufacturing processes require new production machines, systems, and processes. These in turn require smaller, faster, more efficient, and more precise electric motors with high torque.

Better lamination stacks for the drives of production machines and systems

Electric motors for the drives of production machines and systems should be smaller, faster, more efficient, more direct, and more precise. Requirements such as a small, efficient, and higher torque, a higher speed, or less waste heat are common. Better lamination stacks are needed for this, too. We develop new concepts and solutions together with our customers.

Here is some food for thought:

  • Filigree rotors or stators for the smallest motors
  • Microsegments for maximum copper fill factor in the stator
  • Vacoflux laminations for maximum efficiency
  • Star/yoke design for high copper fill factor and simple construction
  • Ground or honed lamination stacks for smaller tolerances and better heat transfer

Customer projects in progress:

  • Micromotors
  • Microsegments
  • Mechanically machined stators
  • Special laminated components
  • High-precision stators and rotors
  • Stators with assembly features
  • Reduction of manufacturing steps thanks to better lamination stacks
  • Lamination stacks that also serve as housings
  • Motors with unique characteristics

Applications in:

  • Motors for automation
  • Motors for special pumps
  • Motors for machine tools
  • and many new mechatronics ideas
